The fourth annual Arqus Conference took place at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, under the theme "Connecting Universities, Addressing Challenges". This three-day major Arqus event brought together around 250 participants from different universities.

The Rector of Vilnius University (VU), Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, presented recognition gifts and certificates of appreciation to the researchers of the Life Sciences Center (LSC) and other faculties at the "Finis Anni Academici" celebration, recognizing their scientific accomplishments and outstanding achievements. The event also honored Magna cum laude graduates.

For outstanding academic achievements and relevant research combining the fields of microbiology and environmental protection, one-time Prof. Karolis Jankevičius scholarships have been awarded to Indrė Čepaitė, a third-year student of the Bachelor's Degree Program in Microbiology, and to Modestas Katauskis, a first-year student of the Master's Degree Program in Microbiology. The scholarship was established by UAB "GVT LT".

Dovydas Gabrielaitis, a doctoral student of the Life Sciences Center of Vilnius University (VU LSC) has defended his dissertation "The investigation of the factors modulating macrophage endocytosis: macrophage type, age, plasma membrane tension" to be granted a PhD in biophysics. Dr Urtė Neniškytė was his PhD supervisor.
