On July 8, Egidijus Meilūnas, the ambassador of Lithuania to Canada, visited the Life Sciences Center (LSC).

During the visit, he met with LSC Director Dr. Arvydas Lubys, Prof. Virginijus Šikšnys, and Dr. Kastis Krikštopaitis to share insights on science diplomacy initiatives and discuss opportunities for collaboration between Lithuania and Canada in the life sciences sector.
Dr. Arvydas Lubys presented the ambassador with an overview of the LSC’s activities, including its academic programs and research focus areas, from genome editing, epigenetics, and synthetic biology to neurobiology, cancer research, and immunology. He also highlighted the upcoming launch of the Translational Gene Technology Competence Center.
The visit is expected to strengthen ties and encourage new partnerships between the Lithuanian and Canadian life sciences communities.
