Our research group is a part of the Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics at the Institute of Biosciences (Life Sciences Center, Vilnius University).
We investigate how birds see this world, how their visual system functions, what is its structure and how properties of their visual system influence their behaviour. Therefore, we investigate various aspects of bird vision.
Currently we investigate temporal resolution of owls, how penguins stabilize their gaze underwater and what is the cellular structure of bird retina. Psychophysics, 3D videography and histology are used in our research.
