During June and July, Urtė Neniškytė laboratory hosted three students from the Lithuanian diaspora who participated in the "Bring Together Lithuania" (BTLT) and "Lithuanian International Student Services" (LISS) programs.

Mykolas Simonaitis, a participant in the BTLT program, learned how to passage mammalian cell cultures, transfect cells, assess Cas9-mediated EGFP gene activation using fluorescence microscopy, and analyze the results with the CellProfiler software.

Ūla Rusnė Baranovskytė, a participant in the LISS program, joined genotyping tasks, isolated DNA and synaptosomes from mouse brain tissue, performed immunohistochemical staining, and acquired images using a wide-field fluorescence microscope.

Another BTLT participant, Elena Šereiva, isolated synaptosomes and performed indirect immunofluorescence assays to detect autoantibodies in patients' blood serum and cerebrospinal fluid samples.
