The Research Council of Lithuania launches the call for proposals for project funding under the measure No 09.3.3-LMT-K-712 'Development of Scientific Competences of Scientists, other Researchers and Students through Practical Research Activities’ activity 'Promotion of Post-Doctoral Fellowships'.

Applications must be submitted until 11.59 pm, March 6, 2020.

Implementation of postdoctoral fellowships will depend upon funding possibilities.

The following VU LSC scientists are looking for postdoctoral fellows:

 

  1. Dr. V.Smirnovas, - candidates (PhD obtained <5 years ago) with different background (including biochemisty, biophysics, molecular biology, biotechnology, chemistry, physics, mathematics) are welcome to discuss ideas for the project in field of protein amyloid aggregation.   
  2. Dr. Linas Mažutis – research topic: single cell genomics using droplet microfluidics (candidates with biochemistry, mol. biology, biophysics master degree).
  1. Dr. M. Margelevičius, - research topic: development of methods for the analysis of protein sequences. The field of research includes one or more of the following: Big data mining, mathematical/statistical modeling, artificial neural networks, parallel/high-performance computing, GPU programming. The position is for candidates with a background in mathematics, computer science, or bioinformatics. Computer programming skills are necessary.
  1. Dr. Eglė Lastauskienė, - research topic: studies of the skin microbiota in diabetes patients. 
  1. Dr. Inga Matijošytė, – research topic: investigation of enzymatic hydrolysis of vegetable proteins. The candidates must have the PhD degree of biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry engineering, biotechnology, chemistry or bioinformatics.
  1. Prof. habil. dr. I. Pašakinskienė, - research topic: identification and characterization of genes involved in the strigolactone signaling pathway linked to plant morphogenesis (1000 Plant Transcriptome and other plant genomics reference DB). Bioinformatics tools and sequencing, functional gene validation. Potential candidates from the fields of molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology and bioinformatics.
  2. Dr. R. Budvytytė, , - research topic: Study of Interactions between misfolded proteins and phospholipid membranes".  Potential candidates from the fields of biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, chemistry.
  3. Dr. I. Griškova-Bulanova, , research topic: electrophysiological indices of brain states. Candidates with a background in Biology, Psychology, Physics are welcome.
  4. Prof. D. Matulis, - research topic: interaction of recombinant proteins with chemical compounds-drugs. Potential candidates - from the fields of biochemistry, biophysics, mol. biology, chem. engineering, chemistry, physics.
  5. Dr. G. Preta, , - research topic: "Pleiotropic effects of statins via interaction with lipid bilayers".  Potential candidates from the fields of biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, chemistry.
