This week, the Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre is hosting a group of students from University of Wrocław as part of the international Arqus European University Alliance Twinning initiative. The programme aims to promote academic and cultural exchange, strengthen international collaboration, and foster closer ties between Arqus partner universities.

During their visit, the students will explore the education and research activities of the Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre, visit laboratories, and take part in practical sessions and lectures. The programme includes training on the use of artificial intelligence tools for scientific literature searches, workshops on phylogenetic data visualisation, protein structure modelling sessions, and collaborative work in mixed teams of Vilnius University and University of Wrocław students to prepare joint presentations. The visit will also include an introduction to Vilnius and a guided tour of the historic central campus of Vilnius University.

The Twinning initiative offers students an opportunity not only to deepen their academic knowledge but also to develop intercultural competencies, experience a different university environment, and build new international connections.

The exchange programme is reciprocal. In the second half of August, a delegation of Vilnius University students will visit the University of Wrocław, with the costs of the return visit covered by the Polish partner institution.
