On October 16, a delegation from Thermo Fisher Scientific visited the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) to explore new opportunities for scientific collaboration.
The visiting team included Juan Garcia, Senior Director for Emerging Markets, Karin Grimberg, Sales Director for Northern & Southeastern Europe and the CIS region and Tomas Janušis, Senior Distributor Manager. They were welcomed by Dr. Arvydas Lubys, Director of the VU Life Sciences Center, along with Julius Gagilas, Deputy Director for Business Collaboration and Infrastructure, and Kristina Černiauskienė, Head of Marketing and Communications.
During the meeting, both sides explored potential avenues for cooperation and shared insights on current trends across different regions - ranging from diagnostic application of proteomics and multi-omics approaches for clinical use to innovations in personalized medicine. The conversation also touched on the new core facilities which will be available at VU LSC and will aim to support both academic and industrial research.
Representatives from the Thermo Fisher delegation noted that they were impressed by the quality and scope of research being conducted in Lithuania, emphasizing our growing reputation as a hub for life sciences.
