Professor Charles H. Matthews from the University of Cincinnati (the USA) will deliver a public lecture "The Art & Science of Entrepreneurship: Past, Present, and Future" on 15 of June at 1 pm (room R101).

Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship play a critical role in economic development locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Dr. Matthews explores the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy, and technology, as well as key trends impacting start-up and organizational directions. Using a timeline approach, a rich past, vibrant present, and exciting future are revealed through the lens of what is next. "Entrepreneurship is an incredibly powerful economic engine," notes Dr. Matthews, "and creativity and innovation are its fuel."
 
Dr. Matthews is an internationally recognized scholar and innovative teacher in the field of entrepreneurship. His teaching and research interests include: strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, startup financing, leadership and decision making.
Dr. Matthews is a Fulbright Scholar in Vilnius, Lithuania, 2018, and has served as a delegate on entrepreneurship development in China, the former Soviet Union (including Russia, Latvia, and Estonia), studied at the University of Antwerp, was honored to receive a Malone Fellowship for study in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. He has let numerous study abroad programs including to the United Arab Emirates and China. He has taught at the Southwest University of Finance & Economics, Chengdu, China, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, The Future University of Egypt in Cairo, and has given numerous lectures to international delegations from the Middle East, Russia, Africa, China, Ukraine and more. Dr. Matthews is a member of the Editorial Review Board and the Advisory Board of the Journal of Small Business Management, serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship as well as the Journal of Business Venturing.
