Preliminary Topic: Studies of mollusk diversity - an indication of the condition of ancient woods

Short Description of the Internship Work: Ancient Wood Foundation has taken the initiative to protect Lithuania's old forests. We can contribute by studying the diversity of mollusks, as this allows us to assess the age, stability and extent of human impact of the ecosystem. The data could contribute to the formulation of a "non-cut forest" policy and habitat conservation. This is a classic faunistic work that includes the selection of research area(s), research planning, collection of material and assessment of environmental parameters in the field, identification of species in a Zoological laboratory, analysis of the results and formulation of recommendations for protection. The work can be continuous, involving different areas and habitats, environmental parameters.
