Preliminary Topic: Development of a multiomic human cell analysis method

Short Description of the Internship Work: Multiomics is an integrative approach that combines data from two or more cellular layers (for example, epigenomics and transcriptomics). The simultaneous analysis of multiple levels of cellular information provides deeper insight into cell identity, heterogeneity, and disease-associated alterations, including those observed in cancer. This is particularly important for uncovering mechanisms of gene regulation, development, and disease.
We are seeking a motivated student to contribute to the development of a new multiomic cell analysis method, with a focus on epigenomics (DNA methylation, chromatin state) and transcriptomics. During the internship, the student will apply epigenetic DNA analysis methods developed in our department that rely on covalent DNA labeling. The student will also gain experience in human cell culture, nucleic acid purification, quantitative PCR, and other biochemical and molecular biology techniques.
