Preliminary Topic: Biosensor for Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors

Short Description of the Internship Work: Acetylcholinesterase is an enzyme responsible for regulating acetylcholine levels. Inhibitors of this enzyme are utilised both as pesticides and as pharmacological agents to alleviate the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. Consequently, a key objective of our project is to develop an enzymatic biosensor capable of detecting trace amounts of neurotoxic substances and pesticides in biological and food samples, as well as identifying novel drug candidates for Alzheimer's treatment.

Qualification Requirements (Degree): MSc

Application Deadline: 2026-03-01

Additional Comments: The student will be employed as a Specialist (0.5 FTE) for the project “Biosensor for Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors”, which is part of the Lithuanian-Ukrainian Cooperation Programme in the fields of Science and Technology.
