Short Description: The Femto Pulse system provides researchers with a powerful and automated pulsed-field capillary electrophoresis system. A meticulously designed optical detection platform and pulsed-field power enable unprecedented sensitivity, detecting nucleic acids into the lower femtogram range.

Oxford Nanopore GRIDIonProduser:  Agilent

Equipment Information:

Main characteristics:

  • Separate high molecular weight DNA smears and fragments through 165 kb in about 1.5 hours.
  • Detect nucleic acids down to 50 fg/µL, achieving 10 times higher sensitivity for nucleic acid smears and up to 100 times higher for nucleic acid fragments.
  • Replace pulsed-field gel electrophoresis with the automated capillary electrophoresis to speed up long-read NGS library preparation and BAC analysis.
  • Minimize sample degradation with fewer pipetting steps and stable reagents.
  • Hold up to three, 96-well sample trays at once, allowing to program the unattended separation of up to 288 samples.
  • Use only 2 µL of precious sample and achieve superior detection with unparalleled sensitivity.

Applications:

  • High molecular DNA quantification
  • High molecular DNA qualification
  • Long-read sequencing libraries QC
  • Sheared HMW DNA QC
