Short Description: IVIS Lumina X5 Imaging System is a high-throughput in vivo imaging platform combining sensitive bioluminescence, fluorescence, and high-resolution X-ray imaging. It is used for non-invasive monitoring of disease progression, gene expression, and drug response in small animal research.

Masiu fotometras 2MPProduser: Revvity IVIS Lumina X5 Imaging System, Cat. No. CLS148590   Revvity RAS-4 Rodent Anesthesia System, Cat. No. CLS146737

Equipment Information:

  • High-throughput 2D bioluminescence, fluorescence, and X-ray imaging for non-invasive in vivo studies of small animals.
  • Large 20 × 20 cm field of view enabling simultaneous imaging of up to 5 mice.
  • Cooled CCD camera for high-sensitivity detection of low-light biological signals.
  • Multispectral imaging with spectral unmixing (CPS) for separating signals and quantifying multiple fluorophores.
  • 26 excitation/emission filters covering visible to near-infrared range for flexible fluorescence imaging.
  • Integrated microfocus X-ray with optical overlay for combined anatomical and molecular imaging.
  • Living Image software for acquisition, quantification, ROI analysis, and data management.
  • Compatible with RAS-4 anaesthesia system for controlled isoflurane delivery and safe gas scavenging during imaging.

Operating Principle:

  • Highly sensitive cooled CCD detection of bioluminescent and fluorescent signals emitted from labelled cells or tissues, combined with multispectral optical filtering and optional X-ray imaging, enabling non-invasive visualisation and quantification of biological processes in live animals.

Technical Specification:

  • Back-illuminated, thermoelectrically cooled Grade 1 CCD camera (2048 × 2048 pixels, 13.5 µm pixel size, -90 °C) for high-sensitivity low-light detection.
  • Quantum efficiency >85% (500 nm) and >80% (650 nm) with very low noise (2e⁻ RMS) and dark current 21 lp/mm resolution) with automated optical/X-ray overlay and ~10 s acquisition time.
  • Heated motorized stage (20-40 °C) with automated positioning and filter control for stable in vivo imaging conditions.
  • Extended NIR illumination source (150 W tungsten) for efficient excitation and deep tissue imaging.
  • Light-tight imaging chamber (37 × 37 × 43 cm) with radiation shielding and low leakage (0.1 mR/h) for safe operation
