This year, we would like to bring the flavours of our international VU Life Sciences Center community to Cake Day! We invite you to bring not only cakes but also other favourite dishes or traditional foods from your home country – both sweet and savoury. Together, we can turn our shared table into a little celebration of flavours from around the world!
This year, all donations collected will go to RED NOSES Clowndoctors. Through humour, play and genuine human connection, the organisation provides emotional support to children in hospitals, older people and others going through difficult times. We believe that caring for people's health and well-being goes hand in hand with providing emotional support, and we invite you to join us in supporting this meaningful cause.
How can you take part?

Cook and share. Bring a homemade dish, preferably cut into individual portions in advance so that everyone can easily enjoy it.

Taste and donate. Enjoy treats prepared by your colleagues and make a donation of any amount you wish. A donation box will be available at the event.

Not bringing food? No problem! You are still very welcome to join us, enjoy some treats, chat with colleagues and support a good cause.
We will provide plates, hot tea and small country flags that you can use to label your dishes.

Everyone is welcome – researchers, lecturers, staff, PhD candidates and students. No matter where we come from or what foods we enjoy, kindness is something we can all share.
