We invite researchers, lecturers, students, and anyone who collects or uses biodiversity data to attend the event "Biodiversity Data for Research, Collaboration, and Impact." It will take place on October 19, starting at 9:00 AM, at the National Protected Areas Visitor Centre, Conference Hall (Antakalnio st. 25).
During the event, representatives from global biodiversity infrastructures will introduce GBIF and the Catalogue of Life, highlighting the benefits of these infrastructures for researchers and institutions, the link between national species lists and global infrastructures, and untapped opportunities in Lithuania. New methods for utilizing GBIF biodiversity data (such as B-Qube) will also be demonstrated. Colleagues from Lithuania and other countries will share their experiences regarding the publication of biodiversity data via GBIF and the various benefits of making data openly available in this way.
This event is part of the project "Biodiversity data capacity building in Lithuania", implemented through the collaboration of Vilnius University, the Nature Research Centre, the Kaunas T. Ivanauskas Zoology Museum, and the Swedish Museum of Natural History.
