SOLVEIGA SAMULĖNAITĖ will defend her thesis entitled "Involvement of the Gut Microbiota in the Development of Food Addiction" for the degree of Doctor of Science in Biochemistry.
The dissertation was prepared between 2020 and 2025 (in Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre and Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona Biomedical Research Park, Spain). The research was supported by the European Regional Development Fund (project No. 01.2.2-LMT-K-718-03-0099) under a grant agreement with the Research Council of Lithuania (LMTLT), project PI Prof. Dr. A. Burokas. And by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (FPU 2020-05652) and R&D Projects Knowledge Generation - Modality (project No PID2020-120029GB-I00MICINN (SAF 2020) B PID2020-120029GB-I00/MICIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) “New approaches to clarify the biological mechanisms underlying the loss of control over food intake“, project PI Prof. Dr. Rafael Maldonado.
