Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) students visited the University of Wrocław on 17–21 August for the return visit of the “Twinning” initiative of the Arqus European University Alliance.
This time, the programme focused on modern research methods in the life sciences and the potential applications of artificial intelligence. During the visit, students worked with eukaryotic cell lines and carried out experiments using ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, confocal microscopy and flow cytometry. They also learned how to process and analyse experimental data using artificial intelligence and other digital tools, and explored the potential applications of AI in proteomics.
The visit to Wrocław concluded the reciprocal student exchange between VU LSC and the University of Wrocław. At the end of June, students from the University of Wrocław spent a week in Vilnius, where they attended lectures and practical sessions and, together with VU LSC students, explored the use of digital tools in the life sciences.
The “Twinning” initiative gave students from both universities an opportunity to try out different research methods, share experiences and build connections that may lay the foundation for further academic collaboration.
