On 25 June, journalist Marion Kate Smith from South Africa, who writes for Mail & Guardian and Embassy Direct magazines and online publications, visited the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center. During the visit, she was accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Arvydas Lubys, Director of the VU Life Sciences Center, and Kristina Černiauskienė, Head of Marketing and Communications.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the higher education systems and universities in Lithuania and South Africa. The visit continued with an introduction to the activities of the VU Life Sciences Center, including a tour of the teaching laboratories and the VU Zoological Museum. The guest also visited Dr. Marius Dagys' laboratory, where she was introduced to the biosensors under development and their potential applications.
