Representatives of the Embassy of Lithuania in India and Indian media visited the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC). Among the guests were Kristina Brazevič, Economic Counsellor at the Embassy of Lithuania in India, and Indian journalist Huma Siddiqui, representing “StratNewsGlobal” and “BharatShakti”.

During the visit, the guests toured the laboratory led by Prof Darius Balčiūnas, where Dr Justas Lazutka presented genome editing research in zebrafish, introducing gene insertion methods and explaining the importance of these model organisms in modern life sciences research. The visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about the biosensor development research carried out in the laboratory of Dr Marius Dagys and its potential applications.

The visit provided an opportunity to gain closer insight into the technologies, research infrastructure, and life sciences innovations being developed at VU LSC and in Lithuania.
