On 17–21 August 2026, an international summer school titled Human Health and Environment by the Baltic Sea will take place on Seili Island (Finland). This school offers an excellent opportunity to deepen knowledge of human health and environmental issues in the Baltic Sea region while working together with students and lecturers from six leading Nordic and Baltic universities.

The summer school is organized by the BalticSeaBioMed network, which brings together the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Southern Denmark, the University of Turku, Vilnius University, Åbo Akademi University, and Karolinska Institutet. Participants who successfully complete the programme will be awarded 5 ECTS credits.

Selection and funding:
– 5 students will be selected from each partner university (30 participants in total).
– Accommodation and meals will be provided for the entire duration of the programme.
– Travel costs to/from Turku will be reimbursed up to €330 (participants must arrange their own travel).
– Arrival to Seili Island is recommended on 16 August 2026 (Sunday).
– Departure from Seili is on 22 August 2026.

Who can apply?
3rd–4th year undergraduates and 1st-year master’s students are invited to apply.
