Student delegation from Germany visited VU Life Sciences Center
On September 29, Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) welcomed a group of students from Biberach University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The visitors were undergraduate students from the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Industrial Biotechnology programs. The trip was initiated by the students together with university staff, with the aim of learning more about VU LSC activities as well as the prospects for biotechnology research and studies in Lithuania.
The guests were greeted by LSC researchers – Dr. Miglė Tomkuvienė, Prof. Aurelija Žvirblienė, and Dr. Mindaugas Zaremba – who introduced their research fields and provided an overview of the center’s work. During guided tours, the students also visited the laboratories of Dr. Stephen Jones and Dr. Constantinos Patinios, and explored the VU LSC Zoological Museum, where the exhibits were presented by Dr. Grita Skujienė.
Throughout the visit, the students showed great interest in the research being carried out at the center, as well as study and exchange opportunities at the Life Sciences Center. Such meetings not only give international students a closer look at Lithuania’s life sciences community, but also help to strengthen academic ties between VU LSC and universities abroad.
