On May 27, 2025, the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Lithuania, Emil Druc, visited the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC).
The ambassador and his delegation were welcomed by Dr. Arvydas Lubys, Director of the VU LSC, and Prof. Eglė Lastauskienė, Advisor for International Relations.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the activities of the Life Sciences Center, including its study programs and key research areas. The meeting served as a platform for discussions on the importance of internationalization in higher education, opportunities to foster joint scientific projects between Lithuanian and Moldovan researchers, and potential avenues for research funding. The parties also explored possibilities for student and researcher exchanges and the strengthening of collaboration between science and industry.
As part of the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about single-cell analysis technologies being developed in Dr. Linas Mažutis’ laboratory. The guests also toured the Center’s training laboratories, vital in developing students’ practical skills.
The visit underscored the mutual interest in deepening academic and scientific cooperation between Lithuania and Moldova and laid the groundwork for potential future partnerships.
