On May 15–16, the first off-site retreat for PhD students of the Life Sciences Center took place at Vilnius University’s Puvočiai Field Station. The Doctoral School organized the event in collaboration with PhD student representatives. It brought together doctoral students from various life sciences disciplines for shared experiences, personal development, and community building.
During the two-day program, participants had the opportunity to participate in mental health workshops focused on emotional well-being, stress management, and self-reflection. In addition, public speaking training sessions were held to help develop presentation and communication skills essential for academic and professional life.
The retreat was dedicated to learning and fostering stronger connections within the PhD student community. After the sessions, students participated in a trivia night, spent time in nature, and shared their experiences and insights.
This initiative contributed to creating a supportive academic environment by promoting openness, collaboration, and emotional well-being throughout the PhD journey.
