On April 25, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, visited the Life Sciences Center (LSC) of Vilnius University. The guest was welcomed by the Center’s Director, Dr. Arvydas Lubys, the Director’s Advisor for International Relations, Prof. Eglė Lastauskienė, Prof. Virginijus Šikšnys, and the Head of Project Activities at LSC, Ugnė Gaigalė.

During the visit, the Minister was introduced to the activities of the Life Sciences Center, including its study process, main research directions, and key achievements recognized internationally. The meeting also focused on opportunities to enhance the internationalization of studies, the development of collaborations between VU LSC and Lithuanian as well as international business partners, and the strategic research areas that strengthen Lithuania’s standing in the global life sciences field. Important topics related to science and innovation, which should be emphasized during Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, were also addressed.

This visit once again underscored the importance of the VU Life Sciences Center in advancing national science, innovation, and international cooperation.
