The Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) hosted science officers from the United States Embassies in the Baltic States and Denmark.

Andrea Lindgren, the  Baltic Regional Officer for Environment, Science, Technology and Health from the US Embassy in Vilnius, and her colleagues met with members of the community at the LSC. Prof. Eglė Lastauskienė, Chair of the VU Senate and Director of the LSC Institute of Biosciences, presented the Center and its scientific activities. Dr. Stephen Knox Jones Jr. and Dr. Urtė Neniškytė, researchers from the EMBL Partnership Institute, gave a tour of the laboratories and a detailed presentation of their research. Later, when Dr. Algirdas Toleikis joined, the LSC representatives and guests discussed research funding policies, commercialization of research and protection of intellectual property, and a possible information day on how to access research funding.
