As the term of office of the Director of the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) comes to an end, the Council of the VU LSC has launched an international open competition for the position of Director.

The mission of the VU LSC is to carry out high-level international research, studies and technological development in the life sciences, including biotechnology, genome technology, molecular biology and biochemistry.
The Director will be responsible for implementing the VU LSC strategy, developing links with leading international centres and the biotechnology industry, and overseeing finance, research activities and degree programmes. The Director is accountable and responsible to the Rector of Vilnius University and the VU LSC Council. The term of office of the Director of the VU LSC is 5 years.
The competition is open to a person of good repute, with a PhD degree, academic and managerial experience, and who has not yet reached the statutory retirement age on the first day of the Director's term of office.
The VU LSC Council will announce meeting for the presentation of the applicants to the Council and the VU LSC community no later than 1 March 2022.
