Purpose / Usage:

  • Cell disruption
  • Protein and DNA/RNA extraction and shearing
  • Homogenization and solution mixing in the laboratory
  • Nanoparticle dispersion
  • Sonochemistry applications (ultrasound-assisted chemical reactions)
  • Applications
  • Cell biology and molecular biology laboratories
  • Biotechnology and pharmaceutical research
  • Academic and industrial research requiring precisely controlled ultrasonic processing

Operating Principle:

  1. The ultrasonic generator produces high-frequency vibrations (~20 kHz).
  2. The vibrations are transmitted through a transducer to the sonotrode (probe) immersed in the sample.
  3. The probe causes sample vibrations, creating cavitation – formation and collapse of tiny bubbles that disrupt cells or larger molecules.
  4. Amplitude and pulse settings are adjusted according to sample sensitivity, ensuring efficient yet safe processing.
  5. If a temperature probe is used, the sample temperature can be monitored and controlled to protect proteins or other sensitive components.
