The Vilnius University community will traditionally celebrate the end of the academic year. Vilnius University will honour the deserving members of the academic community at the Finis Anni Academici ceremony to be held at St. Johns' Church.
To encourage scientists to achieve the highest level of scientific results, the Rector of Vilnius University will award scientists and groups of scientists with commemorative prizes for scientific achievements.
Rector's commendations will be given to graduates whose studies and scientific activities have been awarded with Magna cum laude diplomas, as well as to members of the University's community and heads of departments who will receive commendations for their many years of sincere and excellent work.
During the celebration, the names of patrons will be conferred for their understanding and support of the University's mission and for their significant material support to VU and its community. The patrons' badges will be awarded to Arvydas Andrijauskas, philanthropist, major shareholder, chairman of the board and CEO of the book publishing and trading group Alma Littera, and to a family of philanthropists and entrepreneurs: Danas Tvarijonavičius, chairman of the board of the company Roquette Amilina, shareholder, and head of the family-owned holding company Grūdainė Lina Tvarijonavičienė.
