"We see the greatest progress in the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center, it is the most international, and it attracts not only researchers from Lithuania but also foreigners" - says the Vice Minister of Education, Science and Sports Justas Nugaras.
"The evaluation unit of the biochemistry branch of Vilnius University received the highest assessment. Biochemistry is mainly developed at the Life Sciences Center of Vilnius University, the scientific discoveries of this field are the biggest in Lithuania in the last decade. We are all well aware of the great discoveries of Virginijus Šišknys' group, which were evaluated by international prizes. Also, the successful participation of this evaluation unit in international programmes, attracting research funds to Lithuania from foreign international funds, attracting foreigners to work in Lithuania. All this made a huge impression on the experts", explained G. Valinčius.
