Representatives Prof. Kirk T. Semple, PhD Akanimo Odon and Dr Stuart Wagland of Lancaster and Cranfield Universities discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the European Horizon project and student exchanges.

The meeting was attended by Chairwoman of Vilnius University Senate, Director of the Institute of Biosciences Eglė Lastauskienė, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biosciences, ERASMUS+ activities coordinator at VU LSC Inga Griškova-Bulanova, LSC Deputy Director for Studies Ingrida Prigodina Lukošienė, and Head of the Doctoral School Daiva Baltriukienė.

The goal of the European Horizon programme is to ensure the European Union's leadership in research and innovation in the world. Areas covered by the programme are as follows:

  • High Level Science (ERC, MCSA, "Research Infrastructure");
  • Global Challenges and Competitiveness of European Industry;
  • Innovative Europe (EIC, "European Innovation Ecosystems", "European Institute of Innovation and Technology").

All areas of activity are based on the horizontal principles of international cooperation, open science and partnership.
