The VU Life Sciences Center (VU LSC) was visited by the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian and his delegation.

He was welcomed and accompanied by Prof. Edita Sužiedėlienė, the Vice-Rector of the University and Pro-Rector for Research,  and LSC Director Dr Daumantas Matulis. The Director presented the potentialities and applications of the CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing technology. Dr Marija Jankunec explained the operation of the atomic force microscope in the Department of Bioelectrochemistry and Biospectroscopy. In the Microtechnology sector, Prof. Linas Mažutis talked about the application of droplet microfluidics technologies for biological and biomedical applications.

At the Science Communication and Information Centre, President Khachaturian gave a lecture on "Armenia: the need for a new society (democracy and free market economy)".

During the visit of the Armenian delegation to Lithuania, the Rector of Yerevan State University, Dr Hovhannes Hovhannisian, came to VU and met with the VU Pro-Rector for Partnerships Dr Artūras Vasiliauskas. During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the universities were discussed.
